Why CPM MagnaCut Matters

CPM MagnaCut is a powder metallurgy stainless steel developed by metallurgist Larrin Thomas and produced by Crucible Industries. It is prized by knife makers and collectors because it combines qualities that rarely come together in one steel: excellent toughness, high edge retention, and corrosion resistance on par with some of the most rust-resistant knife steels made. At 64 HRC, this B.A.S.K. is run harder than many production knives, which means it holds a keen edge for a long time while MagnaCut’s toughness helps it resist chipping during real work.

Simple, Tough, and Built to Work

The B.A.S.K. is designed around what actually matters in a fixed blade: a strong blade, a comfortable grip, and nothing that can fail when you need it. With no lock or pivot, a fixed blade is inherently strong and easy to keep clean. The compact 2.8 inch blade handles camp chores, food prep, cutting cord, opening boxes, and everyday utility tasks, while its ergonomics keep it secure and controllable in hand.

Compact Enough for Everyday Carry

At 6.25 inches overall, the B.A.S.K. Compact rides comfortably on a belt, in a pack, or in a truck without the bulk of a large outdoor knife. It is a great step up for anyone moving into premium steels, and a natural fit for hunters, campers, tradesmen, and EDC carriers who want a fixed blade that will last for years.
