A handmade writing pen turned from African blackwood by Frank, a pen maker from St. Charles County, Missouri. African blackwood is one of the densest and heaviest woods in the world, the same timber traditionally used to make clarinets and bagpipes. It finishes to a deep, near-black luster with subtle grain, giving this pen a solid, substantial feel in the hand and a look that only gets better with use.

The pen pairs that dark wood body with polished chrome hardware and a smooth twist mechanism to extend and retract the tip. It is designed to be used with the cap off and set aside, as the cap does not post on the back of the pen.

It takes standard Parker style refills, including Schmidt refills, so finding a replacement is easy and you can choose the ink and point size you prefer.
