About this item

Brothers of the Grain 1820s Barn White Oak Single Cigar Ashtray

The Brothers of the Grain Reclaimed White Oak Single Cigar Ashtray is a handmade one-cigar ashtray crafted by a local Missouri woodworker from white oak salvaged out of a southwest Missouri barn built in the 1820s. Its seared interior ash bowl adds rich, dark contrast against the natural grain of the old oak, blending nearly 200 years of Missouri history with modern craftsmanship. Made to hold a single cigar, it is a conversation piece for the patio, desk, man cave, or cigar lounge, and a one-of-a-kind gift for any cigar smoker. Available on consignment at Men’s Modern General Store.

Wood with Nearly Two Centuries of History The white oak in this ashtray started its life as part of a barn raised in southwest Missouri in the 1820s, around the time Missouri became a state. For close to 200 years it stood through Ozark summers and winters, building the deep grain, weathered character, and natural marks that only time can create. Brothers of the Grain reclaimed that wood and gave it a new purpose, so every ashtray carries a real piece of Missouri history.

A Seared Bowl for the Ash The inside of the ashtray, where the ash collects, is seared to darken and harden the wood. The result is a deep, charred tone that stands out against the warm, aged oak surrounding it. It is a simple detail that gives each piece a bold look and a finish that feels right at home next to a lit cigar.

Built for a Quiet Smoke With a single cigar rest, this ashtray is made for the moments you take for yourself. It fits right on a porch rail, a desk, a side table on the deck, or beside a bourbon at the end of a long day. White oak is a dense, durable hardwood, the same wood trusted for bourbon barrels, so it pairs naturally with a good pour and a good cigar.

Handmade by a Local Missouri Woodworker Brothers of the Grain is a St. Charles County woodworker who builds every piece by hand. Choosing one of their ashtrays supports a local maker and brings home something with a story you can tell. It makes a memorable gift for Father’s Day, birthdays, groomsmen, retirements, or anyone who appreciates good cigars and heritage craftsmanship. This piece is offered here on consignment, so when it’s gone, it’s gone.
